SLC was established in 1997 by its senior partner, Elia Shikongo who has been in private practice for more than 21 years. The firm operate predominantly as a commercial/corporate firm, and has over the past years built up a diverse legal consultancy practice, acting either solely or in joint ventures with other professional service providers.
Our legal practitioners and their relevant skills, qualifications and practising areas are as listed hereunder namely:
ELIA NDEVANJEMA SHIKONGO, holds a BA LLB Degree, and is an admitted legal practitioner and Notary Public of the High and Supreme Court of Namibia. He specialises inter alia, in commercial and corporate law, drafting of contracts and legal opinions, international arbitrations and litigation. He has on occasions served as an Acting Judge of the High Court of Namibia, and has more than 20 years experience as a private legal practitioner. He is active in the aviation, oil and gas, mining, banking/financial, telecommunication, fishing and transport sectors. Through him, the law firm maintains a healthy relationship with several private and public entities. He is currently a Chairperson of the Minerals Ancillary Rights Commission, under the auspices of the Ministry of Mines and Energy as well as Craton Mining. He has served on numerous other boards, such as the internationally listed HRT Oil and Gas Company, being founding Chairperson Namibia Wildlife Resorts, Fishcor Board, Counselor and President of the Law Society of Namibia, Falcon Investments and Phincon Enterprises (Pty) Ltd.
BOAS USIKU is a University of Exeter (UK) graduate, and an admitted legal practitioner of the High Court of Namibia, a Notary Public and a Conveyancer. He predominantly focuses on matters of conveyancing, bond registration, notarial bonds, company and close corporation registrations and has been in practice since year 2007. He has served as a magistrate in Zambia, as well as in Namibia after Independence, for an aggregate period of 5 (five) years. He also served for 12 (twelve) years at the National Council of Namibia as Chief Legal Counsel, and possesses a wealth of experience in legal drafting and public law. He currently serves as board member and Chairperson of Namibia Grape Limited Company.
MELVIN M NYAMBE holds Baccalaureus Juris (B.Juris) and a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree from the University of Namibia and is an admitted Legal Practitioner of the High Court of Namibia since 2009. He has served as Legal Practitioner at Muluti and Partners, Windhoek; Shakumu and Associates, Oshakati and at Kishi Legal Practitioners, Oshakati. He focuses mainly on Criminal Law, Civil Law, Labour Law and Commercial Law.
KATHLEEN LOTTHY !NARUSES holds a B A Social Work Degree from the University of Namibia obtained in April 2004 and a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) which she obtained at UCT in 2008. She is an admitted Legal Practitioner of the High Court of Namibia. She was previously employed at FNB Namibia as an assistant to the group Legal Advisor. Kathleen has experience in commercial law, litigation, negotiation and drafting of agreements, resolution of disputes (specifically labour related matters) arbitration and conciliation. Before joining Shikongo Law Chambers, Kathleen was managing the branch office of Ellis Shilengudwa Inc in Ongwediva and is currently serving as a board member on the boards of Namdeb Holdings (Pty) LTD and Debmarine Namibia.
- SANDRA MILLER holds a Bachalareus Legum Civillium (BLC) degree, obtained in 1989 and a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree, obtained in 1991, both from the University of Pretoria.
She is an admitted Legal Practitioner of the High Court and Supreme Courts of Namibia and an admitted Advocate of the High Court and Supreme Courts of South Africa.
She has practiced law since 1992 in various fields, the most recent being in a corporate environment where she was employed, amongst others, as the group legal advisor and company secretary of a company listed on the JSE. She has experience in commercial and corporate law, civil and criminal litigation, negotiation and drafting of agreements and labour law.
MATTI NAMENE MWANDINGI holds an Baccalaureus Juris (B Juris) Degree and LLB (Hons) Degree. He is an Admitted Legal Practitioner of the High Court of Namibia. Matti has experience in commercial law, civil litigation, negotiation and drafting of agreements.
NATANGWE ASSER holds an Baccalaureus Juris (B Juris) Degree and LLB (Hons) Degree from the University of Namibia and a Certificate in Corporate Governance obtained from the University of South Africa. He is presently attached to Shikongo Law Chambers, as Candidate Legal Practitioner, for the purposes of gaining practical experience in the practice of Law.
STEVEN YARUKEEKURO NDOROKAZE holds a Bachelor of Technology in Public Management from Polytechnic of Namibia; a Baccalaureus Juris (B Juris) and a Bachelor of Laws Degree (LLB) (Honours) both from the University of Namibia. He is currently attached at Shikongo Law Chamber as a Candidate Legal Practitioner for the purposes of gaining practical experience in the practice of law.
